CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is the most important and the holiest Christian site in the World. It is the holiest place in Christianity where Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected.

The Church holds the STONE OF ANOINTING, the GOLGOTHA HILL (called also the CALVARY, or the PLACE OF THE SKULL) where Jesus was crucified, the AEDICULE CHAPEL (the Mausoleum) with the TOMB OF JESUS and the ANGEL STONE – the stone door which was used to close the tomb of Jesus.

For centuries six Christians denominations share the church: the Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Ethiopian, Coptic, and Syriac Orthodox, while a Muslim family keeps the key to the church.
