Bethlehem

The City of Bethlehem in the West Bank is located only 9 km south of Jerusalem. Bethlehem is a holy place because it has several important sacred places of Christianity and sacred sites of Judaism. Bethlehem is the birth town of Jesus Christ but also the birth town of King David, the Israeli’s second king. Bethlehem in Hebrew means “the City of Bread”. For Christianity holy sites in Bethlehem are Church of the Nativity, Church of St Catherine, Milk Grotto and Tomb of Rachel.
